During cleaning of the coastline and the river Nara’s water surface the volunteers of the “Alive River” environmental campaign found shells from the Great Patriotic war period.
Participants of the campaign immediately reported to the police Department, the Emergencies Ministry, the Administration of Ateptsevo and Naro-Fominsk urban district about the discovery. Immediately after receiving this information from the activists, representatives of special services arrived at the place of discovery. Police officers and the Emergencies Ministry arranged guards and blockade the place of shells location, filled the Protocol. Functional brigade of the Emergencies Ministry jointly with the group of sappers of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation took measures for mine clearance, removal and destruction of all shells discovered. There is no threat to the life and activity of the residents. The brigade of specialists worked quickly.
The Nara river became an impregnable border for the enemy during the Great Patriotic War. This is the place where the bloodiest battles occurred on the approach lines to Moscow. And who knows how many unknown shells are still hidden in the Moscow region land. The administration and special services of the district continue to identify and neutralize such findings on the banks of the river. We make our land clean and safe
